FYI:

PET needs a screen resolution of 1280x1024 to work properly.

Bert:

I think PET 5 has the same requirements. Find out for sure before you go through the trouble.

yea - but you can probably add a $79 video card that will.

Most of the time - it is either the video card or the monitor itself that is the limitation.

Any video card included with a $2k computer will be capable of 1280x1024. It's the el cheapo monitor that came with it that's the problem.

I'm guessing it's a monitor issue? Dell desktop 3.6gb with Nvidea gforce card won't run it neither will my fujitsu notebook.

(sorry if heading off topic)

Basically, I wrote that I found PET5 (and PET6 and the 944 WSM's) downloadable...

at this site - http://www.cannell.co.uk/944%20Reference.htm

I had a bad time downloading it ( it kept disconnecting) & had to get some free software (called "FreshDownload" ) from download.com. FreshDownload lets you resume interrupted downloads right where you lost the connection.

...But since the website isn't mine, and seems to have a really, really bad connection, I haven't been too vocal about it. You're right, though, Randy. It wasn't very polite of me to not bring this up publicly. Sorry, all.

WRONG!! I have a Toshiba P25 with 17" widescreen, 64mb nVidia .. doesnt quite do 1024 due to the stretch of the widescreen so PET6 is USELESS... I contacted Jim who sent me PET5 for no cost (I got 6 from him)...

Why not use the PDF version of PET available at the dealer for $20.00?

I assume the "official" PET 6 is in pdf? Are there two versions?
