Question Vacuum hose sizes

I need to replace all the hoses on my 78.

Does anyone know what sizes I will need to replace everything?

It looks like a PO has used everything from around 4mm to 10mm. Some are obviously too large for where they're used & one (the 9 or 10mm one) looks like it's way too small for the connector it's been jammed onto. From the scorching on it, he obviously used a torch to soften it as he put it on.

Anyway, after searching for a little while, I failed to find a list of sizes and approximate lengths need to replace everything. PET and the WSM also don't seem tell sizes and amounts.

Have I missed domething somewhere, or do any of you guys happen to know?

Thanks,

Thanks, Garth. I hadn't seen anything on Greg's site about hoses... & I was there a couple hours ago for center console removal info.

I appreciate the assist!

Will do. I've been having a rough time finding appropriate sizes online (two that sell them "anticipate" shipping them in 6-8 weeks).

Thanks.

From WayBack in 2002, here's what I got from Dave Roberts. Thanx again, Dave.

(from the link above)
Braided Hose Replacement

For those thinking of replacing the cloth braided hoses in the engine bay on 16 valve cars you will need to buy the following hoses.

11 ft of 3.2mm for vaccuum advance and fuel vapour diaphragm (4 lines)
6ft of 7mm for fuel pressure dampers
4ft of 9mm for fuel vapour from inlet manifold (top)
3ft of 13mm for fuel vapour air cleaner box
2ft of 17mm for fuel vapour inlet manifold (bottom)

Lengths are approximated to leave some left over just in case.
Diameters are all inner measurements as best I can tell.
Based on MY 1982. You'll also need some cable ties to keep the hoses out of harm's way.

Be careful when removing the 3.2mm hoses that connect to the thermal valve on the passenger-side cam box as it has plastic connectors that get brittle with the heat.
Best to get a sharp blade and slice the hoses to remove.

Hope this helps somebody.
