Where are you and what year 928 do you have? Is your car running hot?

When a group of engineers at Porsche was given the task of removing the belt driven viscous fan 78-86 they really bought into the project. So they designed a computer controlled system using two electric fans numerous sensors and a fan speed controller but also added the "venetian Blinds" in front of the radiator to speed warm up in very cold climates and slightly improve aerodynamics. They thought of nearly everything if one fan fails the other goes to full speed. Turn of the A/c and one comes on for airflow over the condenser. It opens and closes the louvers to maintain the ideal operating temperature so much going on! They obviously had quite a good time engineering all that ,I wonder how many man hours went into it ?

Didn't they delete the louvers at the factory on later models? Is it possible to disconnect them without disabling the rest of the system?
