How many vacuum valves are there in the HVAC

Ron......with the center console removed you have access to the footwell and center actuators as well as the HVAC vacuum distribution.

With a vacuum pump you can check the defrost (green line) flap, the recirc (blue line) flap and the heater valve (white line) as well as the vacuum input (black line) which with the engine running should be supplying 15-20 in Hg.

Hopefully the tests verify all's well and you back on the road ASAP.

Actually on the older 928's they have 6...with a two stage center setup? I'm not sure at what MY they switched to the 5 that all the newer cars have?

Malcolm,

thanks for the info. I checked all of the lines a while back and found two that were leaking. I figured if I'm going through all of the trouble of pulling out the center console, I might as well replace all of them. As i recall it was the green and blue lines that leaked.
