Yeah, as Tarek said, what's wrong with being a redneck? Its a crummy job but someone's got to do it. I've known a few rednecks in my life and they weren't all bad. A little confused and misguided perhaps, but it takes all kinds to make a world, right? What about Uncle George? He wouldn't like it if you called him a good 'ole boy redneck, would he? And he's doing the best job he can, isn't he?
By the way, that car sucks.

"Bauer" (farmer) is sometimes used in a derogative way in Germany. It expersses that someone only knows his own farm, and not much else. The Irish would say "he's never been over the hill" - never been away to learn about the world and develop a sense of what's out there. We have lots of such farmers in the US, I hate to say... and many of them think that they actually do know how the world works.
I really don't know of any perfect word to translate "redneck" into German. I guess that's one of those situations where idiomatic expressions cannot be translated exactly. Maybe "Primitivling" (someone who is primitive), might do the trick.
But then again, I'd rather have you guys learn some useful German. such as "Donaudampfschiffartsgesellschaftskapitänsmütze". If you kan say this word, you are sure to impress every German... LOL!!!

"Der Landwirt ist die Seele des motherland". Deutscher hat kein Wort für "Redneck", weil Deutschland nicht "Rednecks" hat. Jedoch habe ich viele Witze über die Leute des Frisian Archepelago gehört. Möglicherweise würden sie ein gutes Beispiel sein? Und verzeihen Sie mir bitte für meinen armen "GI Deutschen".

I like it.
But then again, I'm a little redneck too.

What a POS. Sorry to say, but there is no 928 in this vehicle. I was intrigued at frist, but then there was no 928 interior, and then there was no 928 suspension, no engine, nothing. Maybe just the lights? Nicole, "bauer" gave rise to the Dutch "boer" which both mean "farmer" but both have turned into ridiculous tools of discrimination. To some. Who don't understand the language.

"Deutscher hat kein Wort für "Redneck", weil Deutschland nicht "Rednecks" hat."
Disregarding your GI- German (not bad at all, really), they have plenty of rednecks, one polite term is "skinheads".

I love the way Nicole takes most things to heart. Everyone here knows that most people don't know German. Give them the lit. translation, they know that no German would know what the h#$%% their talking about, he was not lit. in his ? about How Do YOU Say "REDNECK" auf Deutsch. There is no good translation, idiom. Hey Nick, Hast du Kohl? Hast du Spitzname? No one knows.

This thing has a 928 skin only. Every thing in it is International Scout. It even has a 345 V-8. Stock of course because you can only buy headers for the 345 and thats it. It has a stock Scout suspension on it with an add on of double shocks and extended shackels. And a Scout frame. What a shame to waste a good shark body.
But, thats just my own thoughts.

I never even thought of that possibility but now that I recall their stopping on Guest workers in Berlin, I tend to agree.
