I know the early standard seats have the push button release.. did the sport seats have this as well or are they similar to the later models and 944 which have the pull up style release?

If you're talking about the seatback release to flip it forward, it's the pull up type mounted toward the top of the seat.

Old, look like older 928 seats, with big button afaik. 1985+, sport seats are all later-style. There were many different 911 variats of sport seats, and early ones often had plaid cloth inserts. These were apparently 928 optios. I have a Euro with non-sport seats that are 944 seats special-optioned for the 928. So I assume sports would have then been 944 ones.
