Default 928's first Concours

Not bad for first showing. The weather was crapy and the showing thin but the points are what count. 1st plae out of one car but still given a near perfect score.

Other than a little dirt around the bottom of the headlights, some very minor dirt under the drivers side carpeting and a very slight allignment issue with the front hood. I received 228.5 out of 230 points, veteran class. I plan on doing some autocrossing tomorrow and see how that turns out.

Took pictures of all the rest & forgot to take any of mine, it's the one behind the speedster. Very nice 85 also.

A concours in the rain? Thats impressive! I wonder when the next northern CA concours is? It would be cool to attend and admire the other cars!

I can't say it was much fun in the rain. A tremendous amount of cleaning only to get it all dirty again. The Concours events are great and it is a shame we don't see more 928's showing off their beautiful lines. They really get a lot of attention and it is a great way to see many beautiful well maintained cars.

It was actually part of our local Tryautothon. Three events starting with a Concours, road rally and finished today with an autoX event at Giants stadium in the meadowlands. The AutoX was the best part. My first time autoXing and did relatively well finishing 1st in my group with 53 seconds. The GTS was amazing and handled really well. The days best time was 43.xx and that was 2 seconds faster than the next best time for all drivers. There were some Lotus Elise, Vettes and other non Porsche cars there and many seasoned veterans running between 47 and 54 seconds. So all in all I think I faired well.

Here is a picture of my wife learning the ropes. She really enjoyed it and it is a great way to learn the limits of these cars.

Good Job! I agree more 928's need to enter more events. My "new" GTS is already a multiple Concours winner, so I will continue to involve it in as many events as I have time for.

Jason,

I am happy to hear all worked out well. I was away last week and guess I missed the anouncement. Did you post a thread with more pictures?

Awsome! Just goes to show that 928s can hang with the best of them! (and are probably better!)

Glad to hear you did well and had a good time. For some reason the scheduling of our events always seems to conflict with something. I was busy this past weekend at Lime Rock with my other car or I would have been there to give you some competition.
