Default Fuel Pump Hose Removal??? (HELP!)

I'm getting ready to change my fuel pump valve and filter. I noticed that the rubber hose on the the fuel pump is cracked so I need to replace it.

If I remove the hose, will the tank drain??

Yup.

So, you will need to clamp that hose, disconnect from the fuel pump, and drain the tank in to a container approved for gas.

Hopefully the tank is near-empty?

In order to limit the amount of fuel draining out as you disconnect the hose, get a 19mm bolt and wrap the threads with teflon. Insert it in the hose and turn it a couple of times....et voila! no leak whatsoever. A few ounces of fuel will drain by the time you insert the bolt fully, so keep a pan handy. It will hold for ever without a drop leaking.

Beats emptying the fuel tank. just my 2 cents

Does that look like a stock fuel pump (blue)?
