Default Power Steering pressure line from NAPA!!

Does any one have experience with the power steering pressure line from NAPA Part No. NPS72565? At just $45.99 it is substantially cheaper then the original part from the big three ($195). It’s hard to believe that NAPA would make a part for a 928!

Thanks, Azir

Azir, although I have no experience with the NAPA hose, I've heard that it fits. You might also consider having your stock hoses rebuilt at a hydraulic shop. I had mine done local, same day turn, for around $60.00 for all 4 hoses. Just a thought.

Azir, I had trouble making the NAPA hose fit. I finally took my old hose to the hydralic shop and had it rebuilt. Worked just fine.
Hope this helps

I installed a Napa hose on my '79 with no problems.

David,
I'm curious about the fitting problems - any specifics?

hupp, I had trouble getting the banjo fittings to line up and couldn't get the bolt threaded right.
It could just be me, I still needed help from a friend to make new one fit.

David,

I had the same issue but I do not think it is unique to the Napa hose. I found that the line must not be in the brackett (located on fender near brake master) while starting the threads. Once I had the banjo bolt installed I installed the line in the brackett.

Default I would get rebuild or by OEM

I think the hose is not for a 928 ... maybe another fron engine porsche??? I tried and it is definitely not the same shape on the end that connects to the rack.... When I got my old one out I saw that it was in good shape so I will resuse it and just send the napa one back...Napa is easy going though... they e-mailed me a return label for UPS....

I saw no way to make the metal line go though the mounting braket on the inside wall of the engine bay (frame) .... the straight segment is much shorter... I am leary when the part is not the same exact shape... though in all other aspects it is almost identicle....

If you go to royal brass or some other Hydraulic shop make sure they get the orientation of the two ends right... also I am not sure about the line restrictor if it needs to be there or not... I heard some debate about this a while ago...

Gentlemen,

Thank to all of you for your advice. I finally found a local company who rebuilt the hose for a mere $33 + Tax! I haven’t tested it yet as I’ve started the intake refurbishment project. Thaks once again.
