limp home relay
I have ordered the relacement for the limp home relay but it is back ordered for another week .In the meantime I have jumpered the 2,4,5 pins together in the socket where the led relay was removed from and the car still runs on 4 cylinders.Does anyone know if the 2,4,5 pins are the correct pinns to jump to get it to run on 8 cylinders? Thanks in advance

Please, please do not call it a LIMP HOME relay. It is the Ignition circuit monitoring relay. The primary purpose is to avoid fires caused when one of the ignition systems fails. I do not recall which terminals need connecting but what if you are having an ignition problem and the relay was just doing what it is designed to do ?

Have you tried what I suggested in your other thread?
I still think you have a bad injector or shorted injector wire of one of the 4 cylinders/injectors that are not firing. Pull the injector plugs off all 4 of those injectors and plug one of your old injectors into each plug while the car is running. If the injector is firing you will be able to feel it when it pulses (and hear it up close). If none of the plugs will fire the test injector, leave them disconnected and take a test light (or meter) and check for 12v power at each of the two pins at the plug (you can do this with the engine off and the ignition on). If one of the plugs shows 12v at both pins, you found the short. The right way to test this is to pull off all of the plugs and check for 12v but this might get you to the problem the quickest. Remember, the coils on the injectors will conduct the 12v across the coil. For example, with one (good) injector connected in the system you will read 12v at each pin on the plug. Hope that makes sense.

Today I put an extra set of 30 lbs injectors in and I checked all of the injector wires as you said Tim and they were all ok .I guess I am learing a lot about my car from taking it all apart,I just cant learn how to make it run an 8 cylinders

AS i have found, just beacuse you have current going to the injectors, doesnt mean they are firing! They can be stuck...closed..or open!
If you have a fuel pressure gauge, a fuel pump relay jumper (switched preferabley), you can pressurzie the fuel system, shut the pump system off, then crank the motor. Before doing this un plug all your injectors but 1. If the fuel pressure drops...its got current and is actaully firing!
repeat 7 more time like i did leaving only one injector hooked up at a time!
I had 4 plugged. 3 on one side 1 on the other. They all tested good for ohms and volts. Hell i had even replaced all my injector connectors prior to this..it was getting pretty frustrating near the end!
