You can get LED bulb replacements, but I'm pretty sure it breaks the light check intelligence because of different voltage, or something. So you always get a light out warning. Same issue with my saab. You may be able to replace the 3rd brakelight with them and not cause any problems.

I'm keen to have LEDs for the quicker light up time over incandescants as well.

Another vote for the clear lenses, analog clock, billet oil filler cap, rear seat storage, and LED illumination for the pod and switches.

Also, a better looking/mounting sunroof motor cover. Mine kept falling down in the front and hitting me in the head during spirited driving, so I drilled 2 holes in the metal clips in the ceiling, installed 2 clip nuts, and screwed the dang thing on!!!!!!!!!!

Thaddeus, doesn't 928 Specialists have the aluminum interior door handles??? I know they used to, as I got a set from them years ago. Definitely much better than the stock plastic. I also have the aluminum shift pattern insert. My Polk Audio speakers in the door have aluminum "look" surrounds, and my MOMO steering wheel has an aluminum ring surrounding the horn button. In the right amounts, the aluminum accents break up all the black in the interior.

Keep up the good work Paul!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What about a smoked or clear glass sunroof replacement - that can still slide back and forth....

would cast aluminum, magnesium or brass handles be acceptable? I have been toying with the idea of makeing a set for mine. If there is enough interest I might have tooling made up and run off some sets.
Yes, definitely. I would buy a set from you. Dave at 982 Specialists used to have the billet handles a long time ago and has yet to find someone to make them again. So, cast would be fine. Feel free to reshape the handle with a more modern design - if you are feeling really ambitious.

How about an exhaust tip for the 90+ models that matches the cutout in the rear bumper - oval, stainless or chrome, and big... Or maybe that should be part of a really nice RMB as discussed earlier.

Peter;

A clear/smoked one to replace the factory panel isn't readily do-able. We've looked into a few different ideas. The factory panel has a flat crossbar that would obstruct any effects of a clear piece. Porken had a nice idea, but you loose all sliding activity.
I have a guy looking into making a 944 (but larger yet) style panel. Price is the major factor here.

I like that idea...very cool. I also like the a cheaper aero mirror conversion kit..

I mentioned this years ago... We need a replacement for the felt covered driver and passenger window guides. The problem is if you ever tint the windows it's only a matter of time before some sand gets caught in the felt and scratches the tint - which then looks like crap. A better replacement would utilize some type of roller mechanism instead.

What about LED replacements for all major bulb groups. Can this be done? I know there's the tail light waring system... This would be especially cool for those side driving lights, turn signals, interior lights etc...

Here's a challenge. My windshield wiper motor is loud and slow. I've heard others complain about this as well. Source a replacement that's fast, quiet and uses less juice.

Here's a bigger challenge! Re-engineer the sunroof mechanism to have three options like my old VA had. Closed, open, or just the rear portion open upwards for airflow.

Cheers,
Pete

Clear trim ring for 7" headlight. (Or maybe even a lighted 'angel-eye', a-la BMW, ring.)

Another vote for the analog clock, dark facing. My eye says the GTS rectangular shape looks better with the outline of the panel. For the clock as well as the instrument accents, the brushed alu presently avail is too bright for my burgundy interior.
I'm always afraid the interior door pulls are going to break.

Default I know I'll get booed

I know it is sacrilege but I was thinking that someone should make a st of stylish fixed headlights... low profile like 996 or the new c6 vette... This would modernize the look of the car give better aerodynamics and save weight...

DOT approval would suck so market them as off road only!!!!

I love my pop ups too but modern xenon setup in a chromed/clear acrylic headlight fixture would match the modern look of the cars...

No sacrilege at all! I vaguely remember someone here hand-made a set in carbon fiber. It looked great!!! I would be more than happy with a nicely designed set that doesnt alterate the fenders. Weight saving being a big plus, those actuators and linkage are heavy! And you remove it from the front! Sweet!

Ooops, sorry for so much entusiasm.
