So I'm not going to re-install my air pump
I don't have catalytic converters, and I've been using a shorter belt so that the crank only turns the fan. Now that the air pump is off, I can't see any reason to put it back on the engine only to sit there doing nothing.
Here's my question. If I don't install the air pump, what do I need to seal off? I see that the pump had more than just the pipe to the cats, so I'm curious what to do with the other connections to the pump when it's gone.

Removed mine last year, I left the tube and the valve (?) that switch's air from air filter housing to cats.
When I put cats bag on for emissions leaving the valve makes life easy, passed emissions fine without air pump.
If you remove that valve you need to seal the vacuum line and probably the hole to the air filter housing, no biggie.

If you have no connection to the exhaust, then strip all the remaining piping off while it's exposed, and box it up.
Anything you can do to give more room to work always pays off later in reduced knuckle scrapes!
When I go for testing, I put the piping back, but I don't bolt it down.

I took off everything down the cat bypass and purchase a brass 5/8" threaded cap at Lowes for $2 to seal the connection to the vertical pipe. A few more ounces gone.
By the way, I stopped at Ramchargers and purchase dual electric fans that they have on special for $80 (2340 cfm). I will let you know if it works ... engine driven fan/belt gone now too, few more ounces.
