I have been plagued with this problem since I have owned the car. The headlight beam is dim/ weak on my 81 Euro S. At night I drive around with the high beams on and no one flashes me. Also when the headlights raise to the on position they raise slowly. When I raise them with the engine off they move slower. The lights on my 86.5 work much better so I know there is a problem. I have cleaned all grounds and searched in the archive for possible solutions. Anyone have some ideas?

Have you checked the voltage you get at the lights? Also, is it possible the bulbs are not the proper wattage? The raising of the lights is a seperate circuit than the illumination of the bulbs.
I hope this helps!

I had a similar prob on an old 911. Turned out the reflective surface at the back of the headlamp had deteriorated quite a lot. Apparently this isnt uncommon after 20+ years.

I'll second s2art, mine were really dim when I got it, pulled them out and the reflectors were rusted and discolored. Replaced them with Silverstars and it made a world of difference. It wasn't really evident 'til I pulled the bulbs..
