Default oil question

I autocross about 8 times a year and use the car as a daily driver. I see that a lot of people recommend Amsoil for racing, but the only problem is that the oil is not sold locally. Does anybody have any alternative oils that they would recommend?

I just loaded up today with five, five-quart jugs of Mobil One Truck and SUV 5W40 full synthetic, (per Doug Hillary's recommendation), at Walmart; $20 each!

Two jugs each for the 928's, and one for 'Honey Bunny's '95 SAAB 900 Conv-V6.

You can mail order the Amsoil from their website. I'd be surprised if there wasn't a dealer in your area. I recently dealt with one and got the racing 20w50 for about $6.50/qt.

Was AutoXing yesterday. About 75F so not a hot day. Nice to come off the course with the engine hotter than usual and have 3bar at 1k rpm. I'm too busy out there to watch the gauge in corners. All those damn orange cones to look out for.
