Default Need volunteer SUPERMODELs for Discovery Channel and Magazine II

Since the thread was closed. I guess i will continue it where it left off.. :

Andy, perhaps a simple email to those registered on the Supermodel Website would have been a better idea. Since the original thread is closed here, it will eventually drop off the bottom of the rennlist pages. Thats not the way to let "Supermodel" owners know. Actually, I havent even seen a posting on the Supermodel website regarding such an offer. Not yet at least.

Hey Guys,
I just got an e-mail from a race shop in the San Francisco area that will be visited by the Discovery Channel the first week of May. The owner is a fan of my product and asked if I could have something in his shop for the filming. Would anyone like to have their SUPERMODEL sitting around in his shop this day/days. Let me Know ASAP. No modified setups please.
I also got a call from a magazine this week. They want to do a photo shoot/story. I am going to ask CMW to have his SUPERMODEL GTS shot as the feature. If there is anyone that would like to co-star and is willing to go to the LA area for the shoot then let me know ASAP. No modified setups please.

Andy K
Hello Andy.

That would be so alright with me to show these people Your perfect setup with the twin screw perfectly fitted, dynoed and polished ready to go in my car. To give these people a ride in this beautiful, way ahead of it's time, sportscar that is still able to run with the raciest of the pack with Your bolt on kit to my 1982 16v K-jetronic...who would have thought that?

I know that You beeing a pal Andy, You just ship that kit for the 16v with the people from Discovery Channel and I will make sure Your buddies will have a great time over here.
I should be ready with my garage by that time..all cleaned up and repainted.

Geir

Edit: I must add that I'm well into a bottle of red....maybe I should stay away from the keyboard...my appologies

Hey Guys,
PM me if you are interested.
Andy
Anyway, Thanks for the kind words "jserio" and others who have PM'd me.

There was a post on the supermodel forum made yesterday:

http://928supermodel.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=95

These things probably go better on the supermodel forum than rennlist

Hmmm, why would you not use the most beautiful install to date and one that most likely will never be outdone?? No mods?

Sorry guys,
If it dosen't look like what I sell then I have to spend time answering questions about why it looks different than what they saw on a magazine, TV etc. I really don't have any spare time do that, and there are 6 SUPERMODELS in CA that are using only my parts with no mods so why bother bringing one in from out of state? Anyway, I got some PMs and think I have it covered.

If anyone dosen't like what I am doing then maybe they should spend their time and money doing something that makes the 928 worthy of notice by TV and magazines and quit worrying about what I am doing. We would all be better off.

BTW Tony, not only is your car not the only modified setup, it's not even the only modified setup in Vegas. There has been another SM in Vegas for around 8 months. It originated in FLA. The request was was posted on my site too. Many people don't bother to look there though, so I put it here.

HTH,
Andy

HTH,
Andy
Trust me, i dont expect to be told but geez, unless i missed it, thanks for sharing!
Another vegas owner?
I would love to get in touch with the owner to see what he has done and compare things...perhaps they would like to meet me also and see what i have done? We live in a VERY brutal summer environment here, anything this owner and myslef can gather from running our cars here in the summer months on 91octane would be toward everyones advantage i would think.
Fwd my email and contact info to him. If he wants to get together, great, if not, no biggy. I chased down a stock S4 today and handed the guy my card. Thats pretty much how ive gotten a list of cars here in Vegas....the more, the better.

Insert a Wayne and Garth "WERE NOT WORTHY....WERE NOT WORTHY" here.
Now, now. Dont get all defensive. Your work and dedication is a big part of the equation that has helped my car make 400 Hp and many others to achieve higher HP levels than stock.
As far as time and money, well, thats why i went with your kit so i wouldnt have to waste my own time and money "reinventing the wheel". I still spent some time and still spent some money...but thats the way i wanted to do it. As Ive said before, Ive never had the intent of starting a SC business, but i guess to have some fun and to be able to write off a loss at the end of the year for a businees , it would help.

Since the subject is modification to Andys kit
For those that want to know. My mods from Andys kits as i see, it are …
1) fender air intake, but if I were to do it again, Id KISS and just use what Andy ships.
2) smaller stock S4 throttle body and a Lokar throttle Cable.
3) Ford cobra heat exchanger from an already proven high HP boosted car.
4) added a big transmission cooler
5) remotely mounted my Adjustable regulator next to where you mount your Boost regulator.
6) nit picky little things like, rouiting of wires and plumming, powder coating, plating, gaskets and sealing the system. Much of which is individualistic anyway in how its done or approached.
7) Some time on the grinder and with a welder.

The ***** of the kit being , manifold, intercooler, pulleys, and tensioner as well as the idea are all Andys. As individualistic as the cars are to each of us, thats all i did. Indiviualized and accessorized

If all the guys that PMed Tony about using his car will PM me then I will see about getting it along side the GTS. Fair enough?

No thanks. Invite wasnt there to begin with. I’m on my own. I realized that a while a go. Its just fun poking the coals a bit.

Yeah, as Jim says, that does make sense. Having to stand next to my car for a while and do just that at Sharktoberfest, I would tend to agree also. With the coverage of TV and Magazines you will have your work cut out for you.

Cant wait to see the coverage.

Tony,
The other SM in Vegas was done by a shop in FLA. The owner of it sold his hotel and moved to Vegas, and took his SM and Ferrari and a few other cars with him. I 'll bet the owner of it knows very little of what has been changed about the system or done to the car for that matter. I haven't got all the detail but I know it had had headers, exhaust, unique inlet and a few other mods. I do know the shop that installed the system is still taking care of him even cross contry.
I know I may seem crass at times guys but I really spend a lot of time on this stuff and am usually am just trying to maximize my time involvement in it.

Andy, I am a new guy to the 928 world but even I can appreciate the great work you have done. If I may make a suggestion. I think that you need to be a little less sensitive. Everyone acknowleges how great your work on the 928 Supercharger is.... quit sweating it. Just my opinion, I could be wrong.

Have fun on TV and I look forward to seeing the program.

Whal, it's true I sweatthe small stuff way too much. I have been getting better lately. I hate to lose even in the slightest way about something I really care about is the real issue.

I'm happy to help with the display of the kit in SF. I'm back from Italy on 5/1. Send me a PDF with details to see if we can coordinate.
