Default Odometer Gear Replacement Problem

Hey Guys,

I'm in the middle of a pod rejuvenation and while getting ready to change the odometer gear, I was surprised to see that my speedometer doesn't have the plunger pictured on the KLA guide.

I know that this guide was designed for 944, but I thought that the 928 used the same speedometer.

Is the missing plunger another stupid move on the part of the PO?

And if that is the case, can it be found separately.

All other functions of the unit work as they should

Thanks

Paul

IIRC (and - if I understand what you are describing) - the "plunger" is a solenoid activated reset for the trip odo. Since your pod has the electronic odo - it won't have a plunger...

What Mark said.

That solenoid reset plunger was an awful concept - be glad it's gone on your model.

Yea...but it is GREAT for getting non-working pod items to start working again!

Thank you guy,

that answers one question. But now I have to find why my odometer reset doesn't work since the gear seems perfect.
I can manually reset the trip odometer by pulling on the bar where that "missing" plunger should have been connected. But in the car, the button does nothing.

Thanks again

Paul
