Thumbs up Recoil ext cord helps keep garge tidey

While I was in the garage with my camera I thought I would pass this along.

I was constantly messing around with my extension cords, but never really let it get to me. That was until I saw this real nice heavy duty recoil cord at Princess Auto (similar to Harbour Freight in the US). There is a lot of cheap ones out there, however when you see a nice heavy duty example, you know the difference. It is real sturdy, has its own breaker, and is quite long (forget the measurement, but reaches half way down my double deep drive way). Santa stuffed it down the chimney a few months ago, however if you had been naughty, you could buy it for about $75 CAD ($60 USD).

I highly recommend this addition as it makes getting garage power so much easier, and with no coiling, and tangles it makes for a clean work area.

OLD MESS (half my cords)

NEW RECOIL CORD

Cheers,
Mike

Oh wait, no breaker on that one.

Odd?

Probably why it's cheaper.

You know Victor, just as well. I need a step latter to reset the breaker.

Cheers,
Mike

Just a friendly FYI
I had mine mounted on ceiling between the cars. All the stuff that collects on the cord rains down on the cars when you wind or unwind it. And the dirty cord will rub against the car as you move it around. I ended up moving mine to the wall down low. I found it especially bad when I'd pull the cord out over a freshly washed car I was going to buff. The grit would get on the paint and the cord would rub against the car as I went around. It is awesome though. I bought one for my air hose also.
