Default Power Hatch Release Question - Again

I have gone through the archives and I have even e-mailed members from the archive comments but still don't have a solution.

With the ignition off, door open (either side) and hatch open, both sides switches work. The mechanism goes up and down like a beauty. When I close the hatch, nothing, nada, no noise, no nothing. The only possible problem I can think of is that the electric motor is tired and can't handle the pressure. Anyone else have this problem and find a fix?

Thanks again.

Try removing the motor from the bracket, then try to pull the swithes again. If the motor works the problem might be either the bracket height is not adjusted correctly or, as you mentioned, the motor is not strong enough anymore.

I hope this helps!

Imo,
Thanks, but not sure I follow. The motor does work - when the hatch is open, I can see and hear it working. When the hatch is closed, the most I hear (I think as it is quiet) is a click. I have played with the adjustment a little but not seriously yet. Can a lack of adjustment cause the motor not to cycle when the hatch is closed?

Yes, if the motor is not adjusted just right it will either jam up or it wil not open the hatch. In your case I think the motor is too high. It's a PIA to get it just right. Took me bit of time to get it right. Keep trying, and it will work.
