928 Specialists RMB is on way!
Should be here tomorrow, I ordered the twin tip version as I love the way the GTs have always looked from the factory better than a large oval...
Any tips to install it, or is it pretty straight forward? I've never had my car up on stands before, are their visible jack points, and places to put a jack stand? I crushed the hell out of a frame rail on my new TL doing a sway bar swap, so I would rather not do that to my baby...
Thanks for any advice! Should be on tomorrow night, and ready for the Dallas gtg in Flower Mound Sunday mornin...

So, to answer your question on jacking points (I assume you don't have the owner's manual) -
There are four (4) jack points on the car. They are easily recognized when you get down there. To jack the rear, you can also place the jack at the center of the main crossmember using a small block of wood. Place jackstands at the jack points after raising the car.

Gee Randy is that why the archives are MIA? Did some searches and you get a max of 500 posts, that leaves a bunch of golden oldies out of the loop!

The rear cross member is parts of the bones of the car very strong stabile place to put a jack and allows you to easily put jack stands under the proper rear jacking points

I have used that point as a jacking location several times with no problem.
OP: When I put my RMB on, I did not need to jack the car up. Truth is, I was so excited when I got it, I took it out to the shop and installed it with out even changing out of my office cloths......Took 10 minutes max. Course if your hardware is siezed, it will take you longer. I did spray a bit of WD40 on the two clamps you need to remove, before I went after them with a socket wrench. The RMB hangers slip right into the stock rubber hanger points.
You will have a grin from ear to ear when you fire your shark up, I guarantee it!!!

I have been able to remove, and reinstall my RMB without jacking the car. I honestly cannot remember if I jacked it during my initial install to get the original muffler unit out. I doubt that I did.
I would guess that driving the rears up onto a 2x4 or 2x6 plank would give plenty of clearance.
Good luck.
