Hi Flott,
If you require the additional software features for your Spanner (when they become available) there will be some additional cost. I have not determined this cost yet, but it will be nominal.

Hi Cobalt,
I'm sorry the link didn't work. Just go to www.jdsporsche.com and then into the diagnostic pages. The tester will read and clear DME fault codes on the 964, and I am working on the other diagnosable ECUs. I'm sorry but I don't have a completion date for this - I am dependant on others.

Hi Tails,
I am aware of this proceedure, but I have heard that some people have burn out solenoids using it. My aim is to produce a "safe" tool to do PDS/PDAS bleed. Like many things, it's in a queue for my time !

Hi Scott,
I will PM you.

John, Tails referenced two procedures for PSD flushing in his message. You use the singular 'this procedure' above. To which procedure do you refer? The OC procedure or the procedure on Jim's CD?

Since I contributed the OC procedure I have a vested interest in making sure that the procedure is safe. If in fact you refer to the OC procedure - or if what you've heard applies to both - can you please inform me of what you've heard or experienced so that the procedure can be appropriately updated? Please use my PM and work e-mail for private channels.

Not if they use the OC procedure as written. It specifically warns about applying voltage to the solenoid.

Louis Ott did the "engineering" on the process. I tested and refined several steps to make it end-user friendly and Dave put it all together and did the final "user" test.

No solenoids lost their life during the experiment

John,

Can you put me in contact with the people who burned up a solenoid? I would like to find out if there was a failure applying voltage for the 5-7 seconds or if they did something different.
Like Dave mentioned, we would really like to make sure there isn't a problem with the procedure, be it technical or understandability.
I'll check with Dave.
FYI- Great work developing the hammer replacement!!
