Actually, they can be dimmed a little. I checked it out when I first started up the car. Paul Jager mentions in the directions that if you want "full" dimming capabilities, you need a certain type of resistor or potentiameter. Full intensity is just right for me.

Heinrich, I'm not into the full Bling Bling thing either. This is very understated and just, as you said, updates the look of the gauges. The LEDs really do update it as well.
