Amazing what a good cleanup and some new wheels can do. They paid $15K for that car!

They are knocking someones head off on that sale!

Jim,

Don't know when I'll make the plunge into changing motors. The car is so perfectly fine now, it's hard for me to rip into it. Also, I just dropped a bunch of cash on building a home gym and paying for my daughter's school tuition. I also need to decide if I want to stay with a Vortech or switch to an Auto-rotor.

I'll be in touch via e-mail.

To be honest, I think its good. We seem to spend a lot of time trying to nickle and dime down the price of our cars. And I can understand it. When I'm looking for a car I try to get a good deal too. But in the end, all we really do is aid in dragging down the value. With the Big 3 support and Carl and Andy pushing the SC packages, maybe we'll start to see an upward trend in the value of our cars.

just my $.02...

You're right about the head. But there have been a lot of bids on it so far. So maybe its not the case of there being one sucker out there. More then one person thinks its at a decent price right now. Good for us who have cars now.

Could be that there is sort of a renessance going on with the 928. Lot of us out there doing refurb jobs. And damn good ones at that. Jager putting out stuff to update the interior looks. Seems like the 928 community has grown alot in the past 6 years that I've had my car. That could be helping out the value situation.

hey the White GTS I missed buying for 26500 was sold in Orlando by a local used car dealer for 33k less than a week later...not bad. Less than the margin Wilhoit operates on but still a good deal for the dealer, not so much for the uninformed buyer.

What's a good deal it relative to what the individual is willing to pay and considers a good deal. The buyer might think it was a steal. Perhaps you under valued the car. Ya never know.

Xnfl14's "private' auctions always bring alot more money than the regularly run ones. They bid on they're own cars, no doubt about it!

I've always wondered about how much of that stuff goes on with eBay. I wonder how easy it is to detect.

Does anyone know if the base for this car is really an S4? The cut of the front bumper and lower front fender suggest the base car is really an S (as do the floor mats). The car looks pretty decent, but with a "built" car like this I would want to know the builder personally before I would participate.
