What is everyone's opinion on the best way to do this, using the old motors and connectors or snipping them off and splicing on the new connectors and use the new motors?
Getting ready to do this job, and want to make it as painless as possible.
Thanks

Mike, When I upgraded my 89 to the aero mirrors it was because one of the motors had failed. If you re-use the old motors you could have that failure very soon. At least with the new motors you gain the normal servicable life of a new unit. If you deceide to use the new motors, be aware the wiring colors are different from your 88 so you will have to consult the wiring diagrams in the WSM.

Personally i've opted to use old motors.

Can the S4 motors and wiring be used if I have the seat/mirror memory option on my S4? I remember reading somewhere that with this option the older motor and wiring setup will not fit in the aero shell. Just wanting to double check before I start this job this weekend.
Thanks

Well I did it a couple of days ago, works fine, but you need the molex tool for the electrical connector (which DR sells) to remove the pins from the connector (car side) when you remove the old mirrors. I did not have the tool and the ones we had at work were only useful on the male connector, the femals is v tight.
So IMO, use your old connectors and motors, way easier and your memory function will work just fine.

Point of fact....in order to get the old stalk off the car you either have to remove the pins from the car side connector, or cut the connector off.......and the pins are nearly impossible to remove without the correct tool.
