Howdy, now you guys have me thinking a little harder about it. But I still might have to rescue this car, the price might be too good to pass up.

John, the shop is Flashback Motorworks, off Hwy 9 and Pendley Rd. We have about 100 cars inside the place right now, Porsches, Jags, Ferraris, Mercedes, Truimphs, Camaros, T-Birds, Alfas, Rolls Royces, I can go on. Its like a museum in here.

Until you've spent some time with a 928, you don't know what you're missing. After that, they'll have to pry it out of your cold, dead hands. They are unique, high performance, exquisitely over engineered, joys to drive. In my mind, any model year is a step up from the riff-raff on the road today and yesterday.

I drive the **** out of mine and do my own maintenance. Most of the problems with these cars is from disuse. The more you drive it, the better it runs. Parts aren't any worse than the Jag or Ferrari. For the buy-in cost, plus $2-5k in fix it cost, you've got a helluva deal on the worlds best GT.
Granted, later 4-valve stuff will out run it heads up, but they're more complicated/expensive to fix.

Whatever you end up with... just make sure it says 928 somewhere in the model name.

Hi Jim Bailey, your response was very well thought out, thanks for your input. The irony of the story is that while I have always been a fan of the 928, I never thought I would have the chance to own one, until a few days ago. I was not looking for one, this one just sorta walked into my path...if you will. As I mentioned before, I am practically stealing the car if I end up buying it....that is my justification for intervening. I'm sticking to that, my girlfriend thinks I am off my rocker.

I am of like mind. I have "stolen" many Porsches, 944, 928 and 911 and to me, there is nothing that could justify not buying one at these ridiculous prices.

308 ..... you know the irony? That 928 could likely outrun your 308 :-)
