Well just to finish of this thread - I have the car and have started the restoration process.

I found some information on German web sites : -
End of the year 1981 Porsche built a special series of 140 Porsche 928 S in meteor metallic to honor the 50th Company anniversary. These models had a special interior made of wine red leather and cloth. The signature of "F. Porsche" was embroidered on the backrest of the seats. A new extra of the new 928 and 928 s was e.g. a fuel consumption gauge, a tape storage box and an additional "mini storage" room below the left side of instrument cluster. The 928 came with the 4 spoke steering wheel of his big brother, the electric seat adjustment was also part of the standard equipment.

Out of 140 world wide, I wonder how many are left? I think I see the fuel economy gauge under the tach needle. It's a vacuum gauge, just calibrated in fuel rate. Coolness

Thanks Roger, that is very pretty. Do you know any more about the "mini storage"?

I have one of these "Jubillee" editions, Graham Bates in Australia has one and also I met a guy in France last year who just bought one in "project car" condition.
You can see copies of the original catalogs in
http://uk.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/mhasenberg/my_photos
I did not know they exported any to the USA.

Hi Marton,
It is nice to know others exist.
I have been trying to get more information on the car.
Mine was imported to the States by a private indivuidual.
Still trying to track down the history as I have only had the car a couple of weeks.
I would love to see pics of your car please.
Thanks,
Roger

Hi Rog,

pics of my car are also in
http://uk.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/mhasenberg/my_photos

I would be interested to know what options are on your car. My car for example has no options listed apart from the special edition but it does have LSD installed.
Good luck with your new purchase

Marton,
Were the wheels painted body color?
Mine are the same flats as yours but polished.
