Stan P's super nice 1993 GTS for sale
No affiliation other than Stan is a friend of mine and I know this car pretty well. It is a really nice 93 GTS automatic with some unique options including crests in the headrests, black piping, deviating carpet (its black and the seats are tan) and the color is extremely rare India Red (not guards red). Stan takes care of his cars like I take care of mine. If someone is looking for a REALLY nice GTS you owe it to yourself to check this one out!

Chuck, I thought that india red and guards red were the same. My car is listed as Indiscrot. Does that mean it's india red, and not guards red???? That would explain the poor color match with the guards red touch up paint I have.TIA,

No, India Red and Guards Red are not the same. Not sure if Indiscrot means India Red or not - sorry. I know that when I had my Guards Red GTS and Stan would park his car next to mine, there was a difference. Anybody have the Aussie site with all the paint colors listed?

Guys,
I'm pretty sure Indiscrot is Guards Red. Stans door sticker actually says "India".

I also have the embossed headrests (same) on my 94 GTS
in black leather. I have never noticed them on another 928
- but it really doesn't stand out that much - subtlety at work

one of you must have faded in the sun....

I'm sorry for highjacking this thread, but I am WAY confused now on the difference between Guards Red and India Red. My '89 GT has the paint code sticker on the doorjamb, which list the paint code "80K" and then underneath it, says Guards Red and Indiscrot. How the heck can it be both?!?!?!?!?!?!
On topic: Stans GTS is one of the nicest/cleanest out there. Hell, I'd buy it myself if I had the money.

"My GT has the enbossed headrests. I thought that this was done only on the 09991 (Exclusive program) cars. "
Interesting question. I guess you would have to look on the option code sticker on Stan's car to see if the 09991 is listed. Mine has it listed and the P crests are stamped into my "Sport" seats which I thought were the only kind of seats you could get with the crests. I still have 2 codes though that I can't figure out and the info is NO WHERE btw.
NICE GTS!....I need to get me an auto GTS at some point!

I think visible differences could possibly be explained by different paint lots, different MY's, and/or different fading over time. Red is the color most likely to fade - particularly since I don't think Porsche used clear coat with their reds.

That is a nice car, I saw the ad the other day, if it were only blue and a 5 speed I'd be all over it.
They discussed the India/Guards red issue on the 911 board before and we just happened upon the subject today at a PCA pre-concours season event. General consensus is its the same code and color. Someone mentioned India being a water based paint but I am not so sure if it was that or Porsche marketing.
