Indiscrot = German language name for 80K
India Red = Alternative English language name for 80K
Same color different name for different languages and different English name for different model years.

I would agree with the India Red being the same as Guards Red and that they were just model year differences, except that both Stan and Chuck Z. had GTS's (which, according to a previous post shoudl both be badged India Red). Stan's stated India, Chuck's stated Guards. And they were definitely different colors when you put them next to each other. The India red was a deeper red....
We also have a '91 GT in Guards red that again looks very different next to the India Red.
Dunno...another one of those Porsche mysteries...

Both my Guards Red GTS (sold to Gary) and Stan's India Red GTS were/are 93 models and there was/is definitely a difference in the two reds when compared side by side. When someone can definitively explain the actions of Porsche over the years and some of the things they have done let me know. I doubt anyone can with any degree of certainty.

I have seen India red and Guards red cars side by side and other than fade which occurs big time with red they looked the same. Red paints break down faster than any other pigment color. The non metallic reds have a tendency to turn orange over time. You can always tell a car that has been garaged vs left to sit in the sun. I have a friend who has an 83 guards red 911. he parks the car under an overhang so the back end gets exposed to the UV more than the rest of the car and after 1 year you could see the fade was so bad that he had to have the rear of the car repainted to match.
There are many posts on this subject covered by different models, all appear to agree it is the same color. I went to the local dealership a few months ago to order Guards red touch up paint for my Calipers (Big Reds are painted Guards/India red) I asked the parts guy what color it was and it was his understanding it was the same color.
I have also heard that the factory may have called it Indian red and Crimson red also but can't be sure. If it is the same paint code it has to be the same color. When you go to order paint how will they know what the formula is? They never go by name, always code.

Update on the India Red and Guards Red debate on this car. I have the car and the sticker on the door jam says 80K Guards Red. I'm not sure why the folks that actually saw the car never saw the sticker on the door jam!

Jason,
Glad you FINALLY got it.
That's what I kept telling Stan, but when he looked up the the color from the build sheet from PCNA, it said India Red....
Go figure.
Anyway, Stan said he hopes you enjoy the car as much as he did.
