PPI in Long Island/ Westchester NY
I am going to look at a 1989 928S4 and i would like some referrals for a competent 928 specialist to give me an informative PPI. I own an 87 911 and have researched the 928 breed. Any major things or questions should i ask on this specific model? It is an automatic by the way. Thanks for your help.

If you have been lurking here, you know:
If there is no documentation on the car, you need to have the timing belt looked at. ATs have a flex plate issue that can result in thrust bearing failure; search here for info. Neither of these are specific to the '89; hopefully others will join here.

One in Westchester & one on the island
No first hand knowledge of either, but here is a starting point.
You may want to call and see if the mechanic is still there.

I have not had any luck finding a shop that specializes in the 928 yet. I have used Rudtner's European Auto in Freeport on Long Island-(516)378-8769. Bill Rudtner has had other 928's in his shop and does at least own the factory shop manuals, but seems to do much more 911, 944T, and race car work. I have not used him for anything major-I prefer to do my own work when possible. The work he has done for me was done well, and with the use of shop manuals.
Hope the car turns out to be a good one.
