Thank you Fred. Were these O-ring normal round rubber ones or something special? Anyway, sounds interesting solution. Some older French cars at least had paper caskets for similar purpose. Who's going to be first to break 7L barrier?

The o-rings were common neoprene ones. Its just that they were very large in diameter. I have gotten a couple offers to post the article and I will forward it tomorrow. I will also let people know what month and year the article was. This might have been the definitive Excellence magazine for the 928. There was the Devore article, the 928 story and development with a lot of time spent on Mark Kibort's car, an article about the 928GT and a sidebar about modifying early cars for 300hp.
