First one I've ever seen mounted like this. My first 928 (88) had one stuck onto the rear window, and no roof antenna. I can't believe the factory put that thing on the windshield!

I figure withthe roof antenna and the cell antenna both on the back it might look crowded to the engineers or maybe it was a noise seperation problem, who knows.
BEAUTIFUL Car though!

Boxster's had the antenna mounted on the windscreen.
Shorter cable - less signal loss - maybe.
