B&B was the first to do so. R&T had a huge write-up of a 911/928 front-end targa, a custmized 924, and a customized (ugh chocolate brown) 928--the issue was from 1979. The 924 and 911 were both silver with rainbow B&B stripes.
This one was definately an aftermarket deal,
E&H,the sellers, have some---interesting cars--I drive past there almost daily.

That is gorgeous!! I love the 928 lights in the white 911 and also the 968 lights in the red turbo S .... I am dumbfounded that the '82 with the custom slant would fetch so much, but I suppose since it is a rare B&B that would make sense. I have one, no slant, it's a great little Porsche but it's not anything killer compared to my 928's' performance. 3 litres, 180 or so bhp. Much lighter than the S4 with its 5-litre 349bhp (mine) yet not at all able to keep up.

As I've been told, the turbo slant nose with the 968 pop-up lights was a factory option. I was told this by the owner of a very nice (metalic black?) example at a local 993 Club event about five years ago. As I recall, he told me he was trying to put together a registry of these cars and thought that about 75 had been built.

I guess the idea behind it is to add a bit of weight to the front of the car to stop it being so tail happy

That is a "flatnose" as the factory called them--they were a very $$$ option on the later turbos. A few years back one was on the cover of "Excellence". They were drop-dead gorgeous.

The one sold by E&H is neither a factory flatnose nor slantnose. It may be a B&B although I thought they got out of the business a while ago.

Some of E&H's cars have questionable pedigrees.
