Fuel injector question
Hello!
Has anyone a technical documentation about original fuel injector on a S4 1988? 0280150760 Bosch Is it high or low impedance? /Jonas :) |
Hej Jonas,
I think they are considered to be high impedance. Each injector should be around 14,4 Ohm and 4 on each side are connected in paralell and connect to the same pin at the EZK. Cheers/Peter  |
Hello Peter!
OK! :) Found these at summit: Brand: Accel Product Line: Accel Fuel Injectors Injector Advertised Flow Rate (lbs/hr): 40 Injector Advertised Flow Rate (cc/min): 417 Quantity: Sold as a set of 8. Injector Impedance: 12.0 ohms Driver Type: 12V saturated circuit Overall Height (in): 2.880 Seat to Seat Height (in): 2.270 Manifold O-Ring Outside Diameter (in): 0.573 Fuel Rail O-Ring Outside Diameter (in): 0.574 Outside Diameter (in): 0.943 Injector Plug Style: Bosch/Amp Style But they have another impedance 12 Ohms, is that ok for my ECU? Vi ses! /Jonas :) |
I don't have the knowledge to answer these questions.
There is a few people here that propably could though. Cheers/Peter |
Hi Jonas,
The LH ECU will drive those injectors with no problems... |
Jonas,
If you want aftermarket injectors, these Design II Bosch units are a match for the S4 - at a flow of 19#/hr: They have 4 injection orfices with a disc distributor vs a single hole - pintle type. You must have a set of 928 specific manifold O-rings. eg. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...954014902&rd=1 . Use the link to search under Bosch or Ford - many to be found at reasonable pricing. Unless you have done some amazing mods, the Accel units noted @ 40#/hr are far too large : I believe the super charged engines are using 24 - 30#/hr. |
Unless you are going to use a piggy back or new stand alone system the 40lbs are too big.
|
The Fords come 14.5 ohm in various fuel flows. Check here:

I will use piggyback witch can reduce up to 50% fuel for idle.
/Jonas  |
The LH will idle even though richly with 36# injectors... As you have a race car... Why don't you just put in a MOTEC or TEC III..? this way you can control everything with one computer...

Motec
Read earlyer threads about motec and it seems to be good and expensive. One guy wrote like this "first they try with laborating on different fuel/boost (or something like that) and the engine broke and then they get motec on next project". Got scared Imed.
I would like one sheet before I buy a motec "This is how you do when to put it in a 928 and so forth".... Wich model (wich one is the best for turbocharge)? To by sush a thing for ex on e-bay it would be from a company with garantees. I will try to get more info about motec but anyone who has info is free to share... ;) Any other brand wich has been tried out? /Jonas :burnout: |
"Why don't you just put in a MOTEC or TEC III..? this way you can control everything with one computer..." - 928Blau -
Most have a life other than their Porsche. Do you realize the effort required to convert to another fuel & ignition system, i.e. forget the installation part which is minor compared to the dyno time to set the fuel & ignition maps & solve ALL the running problems? |
Dedicated to my cars..... ;), do ask a college at my work - try the first you meet. :D
In my garage 2 guys have aem box in their M 3000 gt. Is the difference big in mapping? /Jonas |
