Other suggestions:

Drive out to a scenic spot. Park all together.
Photo shoot. BBQ or picnic and maybe a couple of friendly spurts of volleyball / frisbee on a beach or a park?
Louie Ott can show us an in-place tuning session.
John Speake (not the non-English guy) can show us the Spanner in action
Someone can bring a printer with transfers and print and iron shirts right there, of us with Mark A, Jim B or our cars, whatever, signed by Mr Anderson and co.
Quick Carl can show us his harness in living colour. Instal it RIGHT THERE Carl.
Tony / Andy can slap on a sc RIGHT THERE. Start-to-finish
Shane can show us his unique drag-racing quarter mile in reverse while smoking a cigarette
Someone please invite the local high school cheerleading team!!

The Socal owners club is Greater L A/ Southern California based ; 928 International is in Anaheim (you know where the Angels used to be ) we are not far from Disneyland ETC. which can help sell it as a family excursion as well as Sharktoberfest.

Again, this is only an idea, so do not count on it. We are just testing the waters. Some of you have come up with good suggestions and those will be taken into consideration.

The track day of other past 928 events have been tough on their organizers and attendance was less than expected. This is why we want to see what you all feel about something like this before we take a chance. We have other ideas on the shelf, so what ever happens this year will be great.

For those of you that haven't been able to attend in the past should clear your calendar for this. Keith, Dan and company put on one hell of an event. The gathering at 928 International and the Peterson was jaw dropping. Mark Anderson and company were simply the best hosts with so much to offer. And a special thanks to Joseph Fan for putting us all up (putting up with us) at his hotel. Keith is Joseph up to it again? Regardless of what SoCal 928 comes up with it will be great. Don't miss this. Keith count me in to help if needed.

I really hope I am in town next year for the event - it was crushing to see the pictures this year and not get to go.

If we are racing, I'd most like to see an Autocross portion added - a short training session, a course walkthrough, then timed runs to see who can really drive. That always struck me as what I would be most likely to do with the 928 if I ever had some free time to play on the weekends. Driver's ed and road course also have pretty high appeal for me, drag race not so much although I would certainly give it a shot if it makes the schedule.

If we had enough instructors, it would be cool to break the participants up into groups and rotate them through the stations so you don't have to choose and can give each of the racing styles a shot.

We'll see how my schedule unfolds - hopefully I'll be around to lend a hand again this year.

Keith... combinations; maybe a Fun Run could end at a site for BBQ;
or a Poker Rally end at a brunch/lunch site?

4 day affair, Thurs - Sun.?

For a drag race gimmick, enlist some local "smokies"
& run "beat the heat" times.

More thoughts later.

I was remiss in not thanking Joe Fan for the use of his Hotel for the event, and hope he is able to do the same in '05. It was the perfect home base for the non-928 Int'l activities. The separate parking area and space to wash the cars was nice, and the food/accomodations were great. Thanks Joe!

Poker run ending in a BBQ sounds fun. The other driving events all sound cool as well. If you do the 1/4 mile thing will someone volunteer to take me as a passenger in a S/C car? Andy? Tony? I'd love to see how one rips it up.

Regards,

Nice idea's guys, keep 'em coming. Depending on what we actually do will determine what hotel we choose. Wouldn't it be great to have a week long event? We would be able to do everything!

How about big 3 (Marc, David, and Mark A) shoot out at the tract! Or test drive Marks race car for a $1.00.
