Default Moss Green 928 Pics

Hey all!

Just received a request from Michael to post these pictures for y'all! They are of a 1979 928 in Moss Green which is a color Michael tells me folks don't really see a lot.

Just for the records, I hadn't seen these before. I hope that they are not too large to upload. Either way,

Michael

I love that color. But then, being a vegan I have a fondness to green. My company name is Verdant Ventures. A 928 seen in green is certainly keen, and not at all obscene.

Garthfan had it in his personal photo collection that he posted for a 944 he is selling. It looks about right but I think that it would be a matter of knowing the colors for the years. Was it Moss or Oak for '79?

So, Oak Green it is! Nice link to the color chart BTW Jadz928.

At least I try to be informed and post my "learnings" here when I can, I could be ignorant and oblivious (bad speller too) and just post in other forums

It's actually kinda nice knowing that there isn't another moss green car out there, I think that among the water cooled it stands at 6, 5-928's and my 1, 94 4 -banger Gotta find some more!

Michael

Sorry Jim,

I didn't meen to diss you or Rixter, that was not my point at all. I just looked again at the color chart and it looks like there were 2 different Oak greens for the different years and there have been other MG's. Looking at the car again a different monitor it does in fact look more like the Oak Green that Rixter mentioned. It is so hard to tell though.

Once again I just saw the pics and asked if garthfan could post them as I have been looking at a lot of places trying to find examples of the color. I thought that maybe I had found another.. It is a bit too even though, none of the "metalic variations" that I would expect to see in the pic viewing it in a different monitor.

Dictionary.com says that the word "Verdant" can stand for:

1. Green with vegetation; covered with green growth.
2. Green.
3. Lacking experience or sophistication; naive.

I happen to know that #3 does not apply in your case...

My color chart for '79 only shows oak green as a dark green metallic.

I'm not sure but looks like that '79 is little darker than Oak Green, at least compared to later 22L version. But it does look much closer to Oak than darker Moss green. Always hard to say from photos taken in different light and cameras.
