James, at the rate Chris is going w those wheels he could start a 928 clock shop . Chris, sorry to hear about the accident but I'm glad it's relatively minor. I know that sinking feeling when you get out of the car and see the damage some jerk/animal has wreaked on your pride and joy. Hopefully you're repaired and running w/o too much in hassle or $. Say hi to Christine for me,

I'm glad I don't drive mine too much otherwise I would get complacent about bad driving habits.
Sorry to hear about your shark violation. Out of curiousity, when the suspension folded from the hit, did the frame look "tweaked" from the hit too?

Hi Chris,
This is the last thing I wanted to see when I logged on the forum this morning!
Sorry ole pal, let me know if I can help in any way.
As someone said before might be an opportunity to install some factory GTS rear quarters so we can get some big a$$ rubber in the rear. Depending on Insurance issues you may could get it done for the same or only slightly more. If you decide to go that way I will get you the GTS quarters at my cost to help out.
Oh, I know you are in a hurry to get the beastie fixed, but you may want to wait until your insurance company has seen all the damage before replacing too much stuff.
Cheer up, I know you well enough to know you will have the GT better than ever in no time at all, especially with the added help of all your 928 friends!

that sucks!
But like a few have pointed out, if your going to SC you WILL need wider tires and this may be perfect oppurtunity to get the GTS or wide flares on there.
Good thing also is that area is steel and much easier to work with.
You dont need the GTS quarters to get a big flare. Blownbeast had his modfied to fit 335's..all rolled.
Bumper looks ok?
Perhaps, run around to the other side and kick that fender in ...and get both done.

So sorry to hear about the car getting hit, that guy who hit you should have his eyes checked your car sticks out like a sore thumb ( in a killer way) good luck in the repair. What are you going to do about the wheels. AT's are on eternal B.O.
Good luck

Thanks for all the well wishes folks, it REALLY means alot. I may lose an answer here or there, but I'll try to get all the questions answered.
First and foremost, I had Liability insurance at the time of the accident!!!!!!!!!!!! (big damnit!!!!!) My carrier no longer wanted to provide full coverage to a vehicle that is 15+ years old?!?!?!?! (never heard of this before) I was in the process of finding a new carrier that would provide full coverage, so this one is TOTALLY out of my pocket. That hurts worse than the accident.
Yeah, how he didn't see/hear me is beyond my comprehension. My car isn't exactly running around in stealth mode you know. LOL. I know that I was making an illegal turn, but I do not consider that what I did caused the accident. To me, he was the one speeding through town, not paying attention to what he was doing. I had my turn signal on, signaling my intention to go left, and he should have seen that and backed off. But of course the officer didn't say anything to him about that, just wrote me for being at fault because of the illegal turn. (and EVERYBODY, including the police do the same thing at that particular spot.)
GTS flares may come into play, because if I have to fix the one side, may as well work on both of them before paint.
The clock is definitely planned out at this point, and as Jim stated, I could start my own 928 wheel clock shop with the wheels I've damaged so far on this thing. That last one that I made for Dave and Jeannie was awesome.
Didn't know that the AT Rivas were on backorder, but I'll get Jeannie to put me on the list. Luckily, I have a spare rear Cup 2 that I can put on for awhile.
Warren, it doesn't look to have tweaked nearly as much as I thought. So far on disassembly, the main thing that bent, was the long bolt that goes through the lower control arm, hub carrier, and shock. I actually had to use a chain and my wifes car to pull the bolt out. No amount of prying or beating would budge it, after it moved about 3". Luckily her car go it out though.
And I think it was Garth that gave me the scoop on the lower control arm fitment. Thanks alot man, I really appreciate it.
I really appreciate the offer of parts from various folks too. Doz, Glenn F., DR, and Tom F. have all been willing to help the cause, and it's much appreciated.
Now lets go see what else I need other than the big bolt.

Too bad you are not closer to me I would give you a hand. Are you going to do the repair yourself or send it to a body shop? I fix a lot of crashed cars and the creased areas are the worst to straighten. You may be able to push most of the dent out be using an innertube. I push a lot of dents out that way. You just need to be able to keep it in place and inflate it slowly. Good luck.
