Default rare 928 spotting in my town

Saw a red, early style 928 last night. I saw the guy coming out of the restuarant and told him I was a huge 928 fan and have one at home in the garage. Told him his car was sweet too.

The brushed me off. I was pissed.

What a waste of a good car to have an a_ _ hole for an owner!

Wow, just about every 928 owner I have run into has been really nice and love talking about the cars. This guy must own his to "be seen" in his "Porsh" rather than being a true lover of the car! Or he was just in a hurry for whatever reason.....Still, I never pass up a chance to gab about 928's!

I agree with fishy....every 928er out there that I have talked too is very nice and always wants to talk about the car.....or is that because I pulled them over and they have no choice but to talk (& be nice) to me????

Thanks for the cheer up. I'm with you guys, people are always amped when compliment them on the 928. I shant let such an event deter me from chatting other owners.

Yes, don't let it stop you, I've had my 928 for a year now, and have yet to meet anyone, other than stoplight conversation, who even knew what it was. I've seen 3 on the highway, all going the other way, and would be really happy to talk to someone who was a fellow 928 nut.

What a "tool"! One reason to get involved with the 928's is the people.

He is missing one of the best parts of being an owner.

Part of the allure of these cars to me was that these are not for the posers who rely on their car for their image. Probably there were a good deal of those types as first owners of our cars, but not now.
But I guess you ran into one of the .5% of 928 owners who has his car for what it stands for and not what it is.

You are apparently the wrong sex. He's probably out selling his 'babe magnet' now...

Default similar experience

I spotted my previous S4 in a grocery store parking lot about 12 years ago, no doubt it was mine cuz I looked at the VIN and it still had the dimples in the hood where a rock bounced on it at about 80 (had the paint fixed but they never got it flat again), when the new owner and his girlfriend came out of the store I approched them and asked him how he liked the car and told him I had the owners manual and service records for it (I had traded the car at a dealer and forgot to turn them over with it ) he then got a strange look on his face, said he bought the car new, wisked the chick in the car, and sped away in a hurry before I could get another word out... only thing I can figure is he had told the chick he bought it new and I was screwing up his deal, I ended up selling the books and records on eBay about 3 years ago since I figured I'd never see it again!

OH Rez- I know that guy!!!!

He's the PO of my car! He struts around at places like Chili's with '90's vintage clothing, his earring conspicuously in his left ear....barely hanging on by the last threads. It looks like its going to fall out~

He probably did ignore you. He ignored me first as well, even though he was trying to sell me a Porsche. I thought he was trying to be "strategically insular" for about 30 seconds. Then I realized I was dealing with an *******: He asked me to wait a minute while he finished his cheese sticks~

Normy's 14-second quarter-mile times Corrado sits outside, waiting for me to realize what a MASSIVE ******* this idiot trying to sell its owner a 928 actually is.

I didn't; AT LEAST $20,000 later here I am. Well, I bought a WAY cool car. And it will cover a quarter mile 1.03 seconds sooner, and get there traveling nearly 13 miles per hour faster. Good lord that car has cams!

N!
