Bill Ball / Beth, excellent trend you started. Wild Bill Sanders, good work picking it up and running with it .... So .... Maybe we can ask Randy to top a "Party Invitation" Thread, and we post party invitations there? Or not, because this format works well.

So this thread isn't getting the hits that Beth's TB/WP job is gettingon the left coast. I wonder why.....
Now to pick a day.
I think next Sunday Fef. 20 is out, it's too soon.
There were a couple of guys who couldn't make Feb 27th, so let's try......
Sunday, March 6th. Should have warmer weather (I hope there's no snow).
I'll get off work around 2 on Sat. March 5th. Anyone coming from a distance can stay the night on Saturday (bring a sleeping bag). I'll get the beer and food. I have an air compressor, air tools, lots of other tools, torque wrenches, lots of jack stands, a floor jack, creeper, multi-meter, Shop Manuals on CD, Pet 5, waste oil containers, rags. Should have a engine hoist/come-along by then to hoist the engine up a few inches.
Anyone coming this way for Saturday, there is sightseeing at Monticello and the University of Virginia, lots of wineries, etc.
On Sunday afternoon, after all is done, we can take a fun run over to a local winery for some tasting or maybe head to the Blue Ridge Parkway
Anyway, let me know if this date works, send a PM or email. I'll send back directions, etc.
Thanks again

I was thinking Starr Hill Brewery or maybe South Street. \
Do you have a shark here in C'ville?

MMs vs TB/WP projects
[QUOTE=wds928]So this thread isn't getting the hits that Beth's TB/WP job is gettingon the left coast. I wonder why.....
Bill...............perhaps those good folks on the left coast realise exactly what the MM R&R work fully entails You may have attempted a subterfuge with titling the thread with "invitation to wheel swapping party" or such like. Up here on the North coast we have "get out of the frigid weather garage parties"
Another WYAI project you may want to do is the flex plate tension relieve.........the car will be up in the air with tools and manpower at hand. Bon chance!

Hi Bill,
Yes, I have a 79' euro, silver and rust, beater, I mean driver. Also an 89' s4 that is currently in my guest room (no garage) undergoing an engine rebuild.........very slowly.
Starr Hill is good. I haven't tried South Street but have heard it's good as well.
Again, let me know if you need tools etc.

So far the 6th sounds good for me, and I think I have a sleeping bag.
Mike, luckily the big wing keeps the top speed down enough not to strip the paint!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ticker's doing pretty good, and a road trip (with adult beverages) is probably just what I need. You know, for "medicinal puposes". LOL.

Alrighta then.... 3/6 sounds pretty good to me if I can rearrange a couple things.
Chris, you need to make that wing cockpit adjustable... dial out the down force for the high speed runs, dial it in for the BRP. lol And I've been self medicating to great effect after wrenching on these animals. There is nothing like that first, ice cold, frosty brew after skinning your knuckles, getting crud in you eyes, grease under your nails, cussing that bolt/nut, staring at the wsm, whining on rennlist, got it back together and working session in the garage. Amen.
Look forward to seeing all the nuts I already know and meeting some new ones...

Mike, Chris and Bill:
Thanks for the RSVP. I'll get you guys my address later by PM, along with directions. I sure hope the weather is decent. It was nice this weekend, but is going to rain tomorrow. Thanks again.
I'll have to get some t-shirts made up. "Sharkowners don't let their friends wrench their 928's alone"
