Default Wheel offsets, front 47mm - rear 52mm

I talked to Tom @ 928 specialists, I think thats where I called, but anyway he said the wheels that he sells for the 928's are front 49mm and rear 52mm offsets. Will a 47mm front and a 52mm rear, be that much different, my car is lowered about 1.5 inchs. I am looking at AT Italia Rivas, like the Green Goblin's car here on rennlist, but I want to know if they will stick out in the front or be tucked. If they stick out in front they will not clear my fender.
Thanks

The Rivas at 47mm have been reported to fit on a properly set up car. However, I'm willing to be that they will rub if your car is lowered that much. I'm running 47mm offsets on my S4, and they rubbed until I set my ride height correctly (the car was about 1 1/2" too low coincidentally). As it is, I haven't really pushed the car hard to see if they will rub under more extreme circumstances.

There is no "Tom" at 928 Specialists...

The wheel/tire expert at 928 Specialists is named David Roberts, although Thor is getting better...

Yes, and if it was Thor that you talked to you can easily tell the difference between Tom's (@928intl) and Thor's(@928sp) voices....Thor's is MUCH deeper, sort of like a very low pitched growl :-)

Justin . . . 47mm is cutting it way too close. Your car is lowered so be prepared for the tires to hit the fenders. Rears are ok tho.

Oh, I just talked with the manufacturer of the RIVA's, they are still indefinitely "backordered" on the 18" rear wheel. It has been this way for over a year and no availability date is shown, hence the reason we no longer offer those.

BTW Gary is correct, the RIVA's are a "compromise" fitment (concerning fronts) and work OK if you use stock height/alignment settings and proper tire size (225 front). Any deviation from that and you may have rubbing issues.

David,

Can you still get the Rivas in 17"? 18s are way to extreme for the roads on which I daily commute.

Thanks,

I am pretty sure those are on "terminal" backorder also, but will check and let you know if otherwise.

Hey DR,

Do you offer the 18" BW Motorsport wheels like the ones on your 85 Euro? I don't see them anywhere on your website.

Thanks

BIG surprise concerning those coming in a few months. Final casting is approved and production will be starting soon. BTW, I get the first set!

Hint - Reverse drop center :-)

Justin,

Wheels will be the same style and look, just made in a "Reverse Drop Center" style so the centers will be more "open" and will also be available in 19s. Pricing for the 18s should be within a few hundred of what they were before, approx $2600-2700 for 18s with 9 " fronts and up to 11" rears.

Quick Reply: Wheel offsets, front 47mm - rear 52mm
