Where is that stamping, underside of differential casing? Haven't seen one of those. Do all automatic differentials have separate number in them? If they do these are poorly documented in factory literature. And it starts with M, not A?

Could first of the G's be number 6? 6 = automatic version in auto gearbox number. Other G could be model year '86.

Hi Greg,

That is the Engine Type (M28/43 -85/86 5-Speed) and Serial Number, the transaxle is on the other end of the car :-)
