Default Anyone have cams repaired by 928 Developments?

I've also posted this in the 944 forum, but I thought this may be a good place too.

've been doing some reading/searching on cam repair lately. I have my 87 944 S motor out for a re-build (does not really need it, I just want to do it) and the main concern I have right now is some pitting on some of the cam lobes. From all the various info I've gleaned from this site I've learned that:

a) Porsche cams are chill cast iron and not generally felt to be the most ideal subjects for welding repair (there is some debate on this though).

b) The options are either to repair (usually weld/re-grind) or replace ($$$).

Another rennlister provided a link to Phil Threshie at 928 Developments . Turns out he repairs these cams using a plasma spray to build up material instead of welding, which is felt to impart less heat into the cam. I've been in contact with Phil and am quite interested in having him do my cams. I was just wondering if anyone here has had a chance to try this route and how the cams are working?

Thanks for taking a look!

You left out the best option of all: do nothing! There are many posts on this topic and the pitting is considered normal. Save your money and use it elsewhere.

If you do a little more searching, you will find that some would recommend to steer WAY clear of 928 Developments, especially when it comes to camshafts.
