Default Lightweight Flywheels and Such

So .... I had a thought. ....... Maybe Porsche made the flywheel, that ridiculously heavy crank timing gear, and other things just so, because of those pesky 2700RPM balance concerns ... hmmmm ....

The flywheel on large displacement engines...greater than 4.7, tend to have rougher idle charactieristics...a heavy flywheel helps keep it running smoothly, AND, many folks had difficulty adjusting the twin disc setup.

When we retrograde GTS with twin disc setups, 1 out of 20 times ti will stall coming to a stop and you notice the vibs a bit more.

Thanks for your reply Do you think it's all in the reciprocating mass, or do you think balance may be affected? As in harmonic balance?
