Two problems please help.
I have a us 1983 928 5 speed. When I go up hills I can fill warm air comming out the vents. It only happens on inclines.
Also when I turn left I can hear a growling noise comming from the front left tire.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Thomas

It has been said that collapsed motor mounts allow the engine to drop enough such that the seal between the transmission/firewall spreads - and hot engine bay air enters the cabin. But only on inclines ....
The tire growl could be many things: first, check the tread surface for any uneven wear pattern. secondly, jack up the wheel and secure with a jack stand - then wiggle the wheel to see if there is any play: left to right (tie rods) and top to bottom ( wheel bearings).

Welcome to Rennlist
Possibilities:
- The small black/blue vacuum check valve near the brake booster is bad, allowing you to lose the vacuum when you go up a hill and increase throttle opening.
- There are enough leaks in the HVAC system that the vacuum system can't flow enough to maintain vacuum when engine manifold vacuum drops going up a hill.
Look closely at the inner edge of the front tires, and make sure that you aren't out of rubber. If the car is aligned after the front end is lifted, it will eat the inner edges very quickly.
If you only hear the noise on very sharp turns, the rack stops may be wrong, allowing the tire to touch the body.
You may have a loose or faulty front wheel bearing. Jack until the wheel is off the ground, and try to wiggle the wheel - there should be no free play in the bearing.
