Garth is correct. Additionally the centre timing belt cover will not fit. I am going to try an S4 unit.
Parts that do not have to change:
belt
big roller
idler (well, it really does because the bearing on the new one is closer to the centre)
lower idler roller
crank timing gear
cam timing gears
oil pump timing gear
perhaps two top timing belt covers, we shall see.

So US '85 == Euro '85
So US '85 == Euro '85

The shop that did your 85EuroS timing belt probably looked up the 85US part.

Matt, yes you are probably right ... but I KNOW the tensioner was the original one, this (US) car has a very vivid service history, as in I know the service house and there was just one service (tbelt that is) and I have all records. So .... Porsche may have switched mid-stream. I know in the old days before I knew better, I used to buy all my parts from a company that used to ask me the engine number before deciding which part to send. Then I discovered 928 Specialists and International

Shane,
My avatar is so close to your home you can almost throw a 928 lugnut and hit it. Selway River, Idaho....but it ain't Alaska! Probably the only 928 in the history of the world to go all the way to the water falls.
