Heinrich,

I agree. Your offer, if you could call it that, was weak.

It isn't a problem to me Adam. Whatever it was, it isn't anymore. I have many options, and this one had promise. But what I had expected, I didn't get. I didn't ask for Marc to say: "SOLD" .... I expected him to say: "OK Heinrich you are first/second/third in line".

Here all I did was to indicate interest, and I ended up with some indeterminate statement that really didn't say what it was supposed to. It did however remind me that as I say, I don't deal that way. Marc does, and more power to him.

If I ever list something for sale (not often) and you Adam say "Chalk me down as first interested buyer" .... that, you shall be. Unless two others are ahead of you, in which case my response will be "Adam, you are third in line".

Btw Adam, if you are in the business of buying cars sight unseen, good luck. My offer was there, very clear. It said: "Put me in line for this car. If it's good I will buy it".

Or is this something you find "weak".

Heinrich,

As a broker, and having bought three 928s sight unseen, the correct verbiage is:

"I'll take it", or "give you $4K for it" or something along those lines.

I'm in the business of buying and selling yachts, and the thing you presented plus $.25 would buy you a hot cup of jack squat. You want to buy something, tell the guy the check is on the way.

"interested" people area dime a dozen. Don't get mad - no big deal. If you want the car, pony up. Your "offer" did not look to an outsider as an offer at all. I don't know Marc, have no affiliation to Devek, and frankly don't know why I am arguing with you.

So your response would have been "I'll take it" huh. Really. That is exactly what I didn't want. I didn't want to "take it" sight unseen. Hey I believe it MAY still be available for you, we don't know, because Marc has kinda intimated that there MAY be other buyers waiting out there. ... SAY Adam, do you think they said "I'LL TAKE IT"? If so, why is it still listed available here?

Hein,

Take it easy dude. Your statement was ambiguous. I don't want the car, you do. Call him and tell him so.

I am a simple guy - statements like "I will take it", "I will have someone come and check it out for me and leave a deposit", "I will send you a deposit", etc are all basis for a deal and demonstrate commitment.

The difference was once told to me by a farmer - In a bacon and egg breakfast, the chicken has an vested interest in the eggs, but the pig, he sure was committed making your breakfast!

Yes H, it is still for sale.

i think H. was just casting back the line, to get a better feel. donald trump even explains this as being very smart. instead of the slightly insulting reply of seller , seller should have recognised this and cast the line back to H. a very quick deal could have been struck. this is the craft of dealmaking. in the real world of buying and selling, the yacht salesman would be very confused. my op. only no harm int.

You are trying to make a buck to feed the nosepickers. So you put your sign up: "Codfish - 25c .... boat comes in tomorrow, IT ISN'T HERE YET". Dude comes by, wad of cash bulging in his pocket. "I'd be interested in two of those fish, go ahead and put my name down for two". "Yeah right buddy, you and a dozen others". "Ahh ... OK then, see ya".

Dude, I'm saying not to save one this time as James Woods says best "nobody buys a dog, everyone buys puppies".
