Question Steering Hop?

Winter projects.......

When I turned the wheels on the shark this evening to MAX radius, they hop and hesitate. The feeling is almost identical to that of a 4wd truck on dry pavement when turning gin 4wd. Any thought would be much appreciated. Been searching the threads....nada

Cheers,

Wil

I get the same sensation under the same conditions. I plan to replace the rack and upper A arm bushings in the next week or so, and perhaps I'll find the cause. Unless someone identifies it first.

The steering rack bushings and the upper control arm bushings and one ball joint were replaced and the car re-aligned. The alignment was done THREE times until it seemed acceptable. The hop and wandering seem to have disappeared. It seems that whatever caused it was in those parts.
