What are the wheels in your avatar? Where can you get them?
Well, I not 100% sure exactly (I have yet to get truly acquainted with my wife's 928) but I believe that they are
TechoTwist Multi-piece wheels. (Note: not Turbo Twist not Technology Twist) Cast centers. Forged Rims.
They are 993 wheels and are the wrong offset for 928s, but they are mounted on my wife's GTS. In order to make them fit correctly you have to use a custom spacer and non-stock length wheel studs. In the case of the GTS the stock studs were cut down and a custom spacer was used in place of the stock GTS spacer. This mod was done by the second owner.
Mark Anderson may be able to dig through his records and provide more info as he and Jim are well-acquainted with "Iris." I do know that 928 International can get them as I have a receipt from them for a replacement wheel.
I have a real weakness for the Nougat Braun Metallic S4's. If I could ever find one with a 5-speed/limited slip and sport seats in the caramel color, total nirvana. Not sure any even exist.........
Goliver, I don't think you really know just how close you were to never having a chance to purchase your "Candy"!
Dave, John locally has that car with auto. But your dream car was traded in here locally about 2 years ago on a pepper, by a nice man who's a retired dentist. All your mentioned details present, plus low miles and mint ..... may be able to trace her down ... if you want to try, let me know, I'll get you pointed in the right direction.
I have seen John's a couple of times, never get tired of it. The one you are talking about didn't have chrome 6? spoke wheels on it did it? If so I have a pic on my computer. I probably wouldn't want to pay what the owner would want for it, maybe I'll just have to make one. We do have a tired early 87' 5-speed/limited slip out back...........
From: Denver, NC (Near Charlotte), but probably at a racetrack

Sab, fyi, we are getting a red/black 91 GT next week, needs a new brain, and timing belt/water pump that we'll have done (plus whatever else is needed) so it won't be available for a few weeks.
Being the person usually on the end of the wheel washing brush, I completely disagree with Worf on the Fiskes. They're a pain in the butt to clean! I like the turbo twists. Nice finish and I bet the clean up easily.

Even though I like the look of these wheels (when they are clean), I would never buy them.
I have to admint that it has been a mystery to me for a long time why some wheels with lots of groves or bolts would be so desireable on a street car - you get all the brake dust on them and then spend forever to make them look good again. I just always felt this was not practical. To me, design needs to be practical and functional -- otherwise it is no more than styling!
My Saab has aluminum wheels with lots of spokes (too many to count, it seems). Cleaning those is such an ordeal that I prefer to just drive through the car wash, and leave on what's left. But then again, that's not the 928...
