This thing can be shipped for very cheap if you are willing to take it to a major airport. There is a company called Forward Air. I recently shipped a 4 speed auto from New Orleans to LA for $80.00. yup $80...... You have to get a pallet and strap the tranny to it and I cove the entirer pallet with some 3mil plastic. Run strips of masking tape around the entire edges of the plastic, and then staple through aroungd the edges. You take everything to the terminal, they weigh it for exact weight and they give you a price. They will only except payment by money order and they do also offer insurance. The receiving person will need to go pick it up or can send an authorized 'agent' on their behalf. I shipped an entire 928 motor for under $300.
