Default Diff. Fluid Change

So I drained the fluid, nasty stuff. I set-up the funnel and tubing and taped it to the rear window. I poured in the new fluid (Amsoil 75w-90) slowly. By the time I got the fourth quart in eveything was doing fine. I went to top it off for the .6 and it began pouring out. How do you tell if enough is in there? I put my finger in the top hole and can feel the fluid just below the hole. Should I be turning the rear wheels to get the fluid moving around in the box and checking it again? How else do I know if there is enough fluid in there?

I have only filled with four quarts and checked the level with my finger.
With the car in level it has been just below the filler hole.
Have done the same on two 928 cars and it seems to be OK.

Cheers/Peter

Thanks for reminding me about yet another job that I should definitely do...

Well the car only has 45k miles on it now, but more than likely it was original fluid. It was mostly golden coming out, which is a good sign. I'm not to worried. Just though I should ask.

Yes that's right - just until it starts pouring out and then seal 'er up. You did right.
