Here's a past thread about removing the rear seats. I did it to my 79 and replaced them with a homebuilt panel, included a couple access doors, and covered it with cheap carpet. I should get a shop to upholster it correctly, but it's a little ways down on the priority list. I posted a couple pics in the old thread.

Eric- I live in Orlando at the moment but over the next few days I'm moving to Fort Lauderdale, and I've totally restored the interior of my '85, to include carpet installation, new seat leather, and re-tanning all the interior surfaces. If you want any advice/help, PM me.

thanks Normy, the offer is much appreciated and i may take you up on it..On the 16th jan, im planing a wrench day at my house in PSL, your more than welcome to stop in and hang out if you like. as of now it looks like well be doing a 944 clutch job that day, two other pcar owners (including the 944 owner) have said theyll show up so far, maybe a couple of others, but it should be fun..

i honestly dont know if ill be able to hang onto the 928, i work in a very limited field, and good jobs are very difficult to find, and theres a good chance when i do find one, it will require relocation . i dont mind that but its taken me a very long time to buy a house, and recent events may crush allot of what ive worked so hard to acheive, i wasnt ready to "start over" again just yet, its a hard pill to swallow..
but im going to do my best not to let a few dreams die, i was just at the point where they were becoming reality., ill fight the good fight to hold on to them..
as for the 928, yesterday i recut the drop covers, and started to develope the forward enclosure panels. i think the new pattern will work much better, and be more functional. i still need to work out how im going to secure the lower panels, add some trim work, and work on tying it all in smoothly. on the upside, i now seem to have much more timethough im anxious to complete this part of the project so i can move on to other tasks.. ill continue to take pictures as i go and post them in this thread..

okay, i was angry yesterday , which inspired me to work hard and i got allot done..

i recut the top panels, and contoured them a bit for a smoother fit:

then i built the front panels:

And upholstered all the parts, i ran short on carpet and had to improvise a bit, and they need to be redyed, but heres what they look like now:

kind of hard to see, because their black, but the above should give the basic idea anyhow..i still need to get some metal strap to secure the front panels, dye them to get the shade consistant, and build a panel to cover the gap between the back of the top covers, and the hatch floor. might add some grab bar type fixtures to keep packages from sliding off the front edge. oh and i still have to finish the insides, add lighting and wiring for the 12v outlet, and figure out how im going to address the "sumps" in front of the panels. i didnt want to push the front panels to far forward or angle them because im not good enough with that type of cut.. i tries several times and couldnt get it right, so ill work with this set up and patch up the holes some how..
