No worries as I am only checking for our general interest.

Now save the broken lug nut end.

You can use these nut ends to cap the exhaust port when you delete your CO2 test stalks, either when they rust or when you just want to get rid of them. The nut is the same size and thread pitch, and the half lug length, which is what you probably have left, works well.

Found this thread looking for a solution to my problem.

I have a customer who just dropped off his car for a 6-speed conversion. The car has Porsche Wheel Locks on the wheels, and the customer does not have the key.

Anybody know the slickest way to remove a wheel lock?

If these are the ones that cover the lug nut use a slide hammer. If these are the solid metal ones I'd visit a dealership - they have all the keys. BTDT.

That's just what I was going to try - slide-hammer.

It's the kind with the key and the outer sleeve that spins. Porsche accessory.

Me too .... that's effectively what you get if you buy a thread chaser instead of a die.

That's why I don't let anyone but myself torque those alloy nuts.

I concur that it is a real PITA... Needed to take-off 1 wheel (on a new to me 928..Ü) and 2 wheel studs snapped-off. Holesawed them with some damage to the wheel on my first attempted. Now, l have 3 more wheels to go. Any pre-removal steps that could be done (spray lub, heat, sing a lullubay song, etc..) in order to minimize that whole ordeal?

Thx

Holy Old Thread Revival !!!! 10 years later and people are still over torquing>>> I had a 225 lbs guy ( Joel ) with a breaker bar AND a 4 foot cheater bar just to get 16 lug nuts off... FIVE lug nuts were already broken in half & were just sitting on the studs threads Thanks to every one who provided the DIY procedures above ^^^^ Saved us some time!
Edit: Once you get the wheel off clean the treads using a torch to fry the aluminum shards and wire brush. They flake right off.
